Compression Stockings

We offer gradient compression stockings in an array of colours, materials, lengths, and levels of compression. The idea behind graduated compression is 100% of the compression is at the ankle and the compression decreases up the leg. This encourages blood flow back to the heart, decreases venous pressure, reduces edema and deterioration of venous walls, and relieves aching or tired legs.

Lower compression stockings are available over-the-counter. These are anything less than 20mmHg compression. They are not medical grade, therefore no prescription is needed.

High compression stockings are medical grade and have a compression of 20mmHg or higher. These are prescribed and usually needed for individuals with multiple complications with circulation or severe edema (eg. Lymphedema).

The most common reasons for needing medical grade compression are:
  • Edema (swollen feet/legs)
  • Varicose veins
  • General leg fatigue after prolonged standing
