What is a Biomechanical Assessment
We all know - "the foot bone's connected to the leg bone, the leg bone's connected to the knee bone". Our bodies work as uniquely separate parts, and as one functioning unit. It is because of this that foot specialists have a thorough understanding of the entire lower limb. It is also because of this kinetic chain that treating the foot can often help issues in other areas in the body, such as the knees, hips or lower back.
|
Misalignment in the lower limb causes increased pressure on involved joints, leading to the body not functioning optimally. Orthotics are one way to address this issue, as well as/in addition to physical therapy.
Chiropodists and Pedorthists are trained, qualified professionals able to provide you with an in-depth biomechanical assessment.
If you have concerns with your lower limb in general and would like to discuss if intervention from a Chiropodist or Pedorthist would be beneficial, please contact Healthy Feet KW.
If you currently have a prescription from your medical doctor or Chiropodist/Podiatrist, or can attain a prescription prior to your orthotics being dispensed, you may book an assessment appointment with our Pedorthist.
If you require a prescription, please book with our Chiropodist.
